Crocell-The God We Drowned

Melodic Death Metal always have perceived as something soft by most metalheads. This perception comes from the early In Flames album that have parts that sounds like Depeche Mode on heavy distortion and growled vocals. This album however will change the idea of Melodeath as a soft genre. This is Melodic Death Metal with an aggresive twist and anger is truly what fueled this album. The double pedalling is excellent and snares are used to the extend of a mechanical hand beating the shit out of a corpse. The guitars are melodic yet it has that chainsaw feel and is not overly technical unlike most of the tech-hype bands out there. Those tech bands really need to learn not all good songs need to be technical. The vocals are truly aggresive and deep but not to the deepness of Glen Bentton and it is obviously double tracked. Which is a good thing! Overall I give this album a 9 out of 10.
